Available Started Puppies
Updated 1/24/2010
See below for New 2010 Starters!
WHAT IS A STARTED PUPPY? Puppies over 14 weeks of age which offer a fantastic
opportunity to their families. These puppies not only have a full
expression of their personality but are more understanding in what their
position is within the family. Compared to puppies in the 8-12 week age, puppies in
the 3rd- 4th month of life typically: Take
days not weeks to catch on to their owner's particular homes;
vehicles, steps, strangers, yard boundaries and new animal friends
become a part of life in days, not weeks. Accustomed to crate, leash(seasonal), and housebreaking
work. Often nearly completely done with their puppy
inoculations. Nearly complete in their immune development Can be crated for
twice as
long as young puppies.
WHY A STARTED PUPPY? It is important that quality families are able to
be matched to puppies that fit their home and lifestyle. Each home
has special considerations that we try to accommodate. In the 20th
Century it is not uncommon for a family to loose their pet and not be
able to get a new one because while they have all of the resources to
provide a puppy/dog with a loving home, but the lack the time to raise a
puppy. Puppies are often sent home in the infancy of
their puppyhood in America (7-12 weeks). However, a 10 week old
puppy is a likened to a new born baby. He can not be left long
while a family is at work and school. He will need daily work.
Most importantly he needs consistent acclimation to the world with his
"pack" or "family" through experience and securities. Sometimes it is not possible for homes to provide
these time consuming elements in a young puppy's life. When these
deserving homes find themselves in grief with a hole in their home
waiting until "someday" when they can raise a puppy it is our privilege
to help. The started puppy is an excellent
option for these homes. We raise Goldens, our lifestyle is fully
accommodating to the task of crate breaking, manner working, and the
continued Vet care needed to raise a puppy. One of our favorite
things to do is raise a puppy a bit longer and match them perfectly with
the home in mind. We can be very specific about what puppy is best
for and provide a pet that smoothly transitions into our client's life.
Started puppies step right into therapy homes starting immediately in
work having been so well vaccinated, some are placed into high profile
and professional homes, some into busy homes like ours that simply do
not need the worries of bi-weekly puppy checks and midnight walks for
the first 2 months of ownership. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE ALREADY GET THIS PUPPY ? Unlike most
older puppies being placed on places like Puppyfind or NextDayPets our
puppies are not the "last of the litter" or the "one that didn't' sell"
We are not placing puppies that have been roaming around a kennel with
minimal socialization. Our Started Puppies are an extension
of our own family. They lay around on our couches and play with our
children. Each season we designate specific
litters/puppies to be started. These puppies are near and dear to
our hearts. They are often the product of an exceptional breeding we
would like to assess, or the sibling to a litter mate we choose to hold
back. Sometimes, they are a pick puppy owed to us from a breeding
we co-own. Our started puppies have most
often visited with no one besides our family/friends and Vets.
HOW DO I GET ONE ? We do not list "Starters"
until we are ready to release them, often after 16 weeks of age.
Once they are listed they place rapidly. If you would like to make
arrangements for a started puppy contact us via email or phone.
Submit an application and specify your home's need for a started puppy. WHAT
ARE THE PRICES ? A fraction of the price of formal
training with 3/4's of the work done! Started puppies usually place for
between $1200-$2200, plus shipping costs. Prices are typically
about 25% above that litter's fee. A started puppy in Tirza or
Nissi's litter would be about $2000, as apposed to the $1200-$1500 base
fees for a pup from that breeding. We do require a $500 deposit
for starters and the balance must be paid by 14 weeks regardless of
scheduled take home date. Ask for more details.
New to 2010
"Avery"
Rainy x Nous
SOLD
$1500
What a happy little honey bunny! Avery is a great combination of Imported lines. She is a compact size, with a little extra baby fat (taking advantage or our free-feeding!)
Her unique curly coat is almost solid white and soft as cashmere! She loves children and would do excellent in a home Avery is finished with her shots, including Rabies. Avery is a joyful girl with an enthusiasm for life. She would do well in a moderately active home that needs a puppy that will happily wait for them to finish work and come home to play! Avery is getting walks and basic obedience. Her price will increase soon to reflect her increased training.

Dori x Asher Female

UPDATE: SOLD!
"Hi Christy. I just wanted to let you
know that Bailey made it safely here Hi I wanted to give you all an update on
Paisley-now Lily. She is doing well. She seems to be joining right in. She
absolutely loves people and follows us every where! She is doing fine with Kirby
as well. She likes to follow him around. They even took a nap next to each
other. Right now she gets a little irritated if he tries to play too rough and
puts him in his place.
We absolutely love her and are happy with our choice. I will send a picture of
the 2 with another update soon. The girls are taking lots of pictures. I think
she is now on "my space". Thank you to all of you for everything it is obvious
she is loved.
Kristin"

Brody
Brody is our pick of litter puppy. He has the blockiest look and whitest coat.
He will begin further training in mid May if he has not yet been placed.
UPDATE: SOLD!
"I want you to know that we've only
had him less than 2 weeks, but he is an absolutely wonderful dog. My wife and
kids love him, he is exactly what you described...very gentle, but playful, and
is wonderful with the dog, cat, and kids. I would consider him just about house
trained...no accidents in about 4-5 days, but just wants to chew everything!
I'll send you pic with the kids when a get a
chance for your site, but if you ever need a reference, please feel free.
Dan "

Bailey
This guy is slightly darker than his brother and is available for the best home for a slightly lower price than his brother.
He has a wonderful personality and is very, very sweet!
UPDATE: SOLD!
"Hi Christy. I just wanted to let you know that Bailey made it safely here and has been welcomed into our family like he was always a part of us.
He's got such a wonderful, sweet personality and we are loving him. I attached a picture taken yesterday that was taken at Rodeo Princess tryouts. Everyone thought he was so handsome. Don't mind the black eye my daughter has....she fell off her horse earlier this week and hit her head on a log. Thank you for all your help and for sending us an angel. Kim "
