"How are your puppies raise?  Are they indoors or outside?"

Every puppy buyer has some degree of concern or wonder about the manner in which their puppy, and his/her parents, live and are attended to.  We, at Kinship Companions, have experienced the discouragement of driving hours to meet a breeder and their puppies only to find an environment so discouraging that we leave without the puppy we so desired. And, a very unfortunate side of this is that many puppies are produced and sold (often long distance) out of unacceptable and abusive environments.

At Kinship Companions we have made a huge investment into insuring that our dogs, their puppies, our family and guests are all given an environment that encourages an enjoyable experience in all aspects of bringing healthy, happy puppies into the lives of responsible families. We anticipate that the manner in which we raise our puppies will not only be seen as an encouragement to our clients and fellow breeders, but that we might even raise the bar on what it takes to bring puppies into the world.

Accommodations made for guests:

You and your family can feel welcome in our clean and inviting guest area. To provide a comfortable environment regardless of the season we offer an indoor living area including a restroom, refreshments, and movies for the kids to watch.  We never rush a family into a decision. If a client has driven a distance we recommend taking time after meeting our puppies to get a bite to eat or drive around the beautiful area (including Kohler Andrea National Park just blocks away) to have a chance to talk over the options the family has in purchasing a puppy from Kinship Companions before committing.  We will also hold a puppy for up to 24 hours for a family after their visit to allow them time to "sleep on" their decision.  Although we almost always send a puppy home with an applicant after a visit, we never expect a client to commit on the spot.

"Are your puppies raised with children?"

The honest answer is that our children are raised with the puppies.  Each day in our home starts bright and early tending to our dogs' daily needs in THIER home.

Our facility is self sufficient and perfectly compatible with achieving the task of puppy rearing as excellent as possible.  Our 5,000 square foot, fully insulated, quality built facility is clean and appropriately tailored for our dogs.  We have indoor play spaces, crates, and quality kennels; age appropriate foods, housing and fresh water.  Every dog has his/her place in our facility both in and outdoors. For ease in caring for the dogs our building offers: laundry area, bathing/grooming area; code appropriated: plumbing for proper cleanliness, sewer/septic, fire safety extinguishers/alarms. There is also ample lighting, including large doors for the daily airing of the entire building

INDOORS

We have a separates sections for the different needs of our dogs. Canines from about 14 weeks of age and beyond are crate broken.  The expecting/recovering dams, puppies with in the first 2 stages of growth (newborn to 8 weeks) are in isolation and incubation areas with tailored temperature, light, ventilation and sanitary conditions.  Our dogs are all used to being inside with a family and spend ample time in the office or our home, lounging on the couch, or playing with the kids.

OUTDOORS
An estimated 12 hours of outdoor playtime in groups is offered. Our dogs are offered exposure to the things that promote a joyful life on our farmette. They can be found enjoying the fresh stocked pond, fenced in play areas, wildlife, and the quiet healthy living that the beautiful land offers.

ACTIVITIES

Our dogs fuel our days with a zest for life; there is no part of our life that they are not a part of!  On the couch, in the bed, or under our feet as we cook dinner our dogs are with us each step.  When the kids go to Gramma and Papa's for a sleep over along with clothes and sleeping bag goes Macy Grace!  And, on a cool fall day if you see our SUV in the parking lot of Walmart take a look inside and you'll see a dog that has come for a ride!  Needless to say we know all of the dog friendly hotels from here to Tennessee, too!
